The numbers are sobering: Indonesia’s modest 0.1% crypto tax led to a 60% drop in revenue. Kenya’s rate is fifteen times higher. The stakes are enormous.

But this story is about more than tax codes—the 450 million unbanked Africans who see digital assets as a gateway to financial dignity, not just digital speculation.

I’m deeply invested in building systems that protect while empowering. From highlighting how startups are fleeing to jurisdictions like Rwanda and South Africa, to questioning regulatory proposals that lack citizen safeguards, I advocate for policy that keeps pace with innovation without leaving our people behind.

Africa is at a critical juncture. We can harmonise, lead, and unlock our full potential—or fragment and fall behind. I believe we can do better. I believe we must.
